Denim Tote Bag
September 28 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
September 28, 2024
Boca Raton
10:30 am – 3:30 pm
This is an attractive bag to make, using up-cycled jeans. The bag will measure about 10-1/2 inches tall by 14 inches long, by 5 inches wide,
Class fee: $25
Materials:
All regular sewing tools, supplies and equipment. Single edge razor, 9″ zipper, 1 yard each lining fabric, light weight fusible interfacing, and medium weight fusible fleece. Heavy Duty needle, walking foot (optional), marking pen, two pairs of jeans, preferably without spandex. Jeans can be bought at thrift stores. If you want to remove the belt loops prior to class, I used a single edge razor and sliced the threads on the top of the loop, then pulled it away from the jeans to use the seam ripper to completely remove it. The belt loops will not be used. To remove the waist band, just use a seam ripper to break a couple of stitches on the inside and then pull a thread, It is a chain stitch, usually, and will come off in one pull.
I do have several pairs of jeans if you want to purchase from me for an additional $5 each.
