Camille has been a multimedia artist for over 35 years. She is a respected glass artist and serious sewing and machine embroidery enthusiast. She has taught needle arts, hand embroidery, sewing, fiber crafts fine craft arts and glass arts for more years than she wants to count. Camille had the opportunity to study fabrics and surface design at Arrowmont School of Fine Craft and studied glass arts at Appalachian School of Craft. Her first love is teaching, and watching new people to sewing become fascinated, enthralled and totally hooked on the joy of sewing. Her first teacher was her grandmother at age 5 and the stitching continues; every day learning a new thing about this fabulous medium for the fabric artist. There is so much to learn; sewing is the best thing for an active mind! Teaching young people is Camille’s favorite- they are learning a lifelong source of challenge and reward.
“Fabrics offer more soul and character than so many other mediums, and after 20 minutes sewing with my grandmother as a little girl, I knew I was hooked”.
